Berrien leads Lakeside to win at Cross Creek; Lady Razorbacks coast

Deon Berrien scored 16 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in Lakeside's 56-54 road win over sub region foe Cross Creek Tuesday.

The Panthers improved to 3-1 in league play and claimed sole possession of the number two spot in the standings heading into Friday's game at Grovetown, which will be mark the 5A sub region's halfway point in the schedule.

Cross Creek visits league leader Richmond Friday.

In the girls game, the Lady Razorbacks followed Saturday's exciting home win over Grovetown with a dominating, 63-26 thumping of Lakeside. Cross Creek's Alana Davis scored 25 points, making 11 of 15 attempts, and grabbed 12 rebounds while KymMya Thomas scored 23 and rebounded 14 times.

Evans topped Grovetown 78-64 to improve to 1-3 in 5A sub region action.

Michael Steflik scored 24 points, Austin Shead added 18, Jo'el Grant tallied 17, and Chris Stone drilled 4 first half threes and scored 14 for the game. The Knights face Greenbrier (2-2) Friday in a battle to stay close to league leaders Richmond (4-0) and Lakeside (3-1).

Shamar Barrett led all scorers with 31 points. Grovetown fell to 0-4 in sub region play.

Richmond topped Greenbrier 69-64.

Lincoln County beat Taliaferro 84-43. Zach Crite scored 19, Devon Holloway added 17, and Maciah Gunby added 15.

The Grovetown Lady Warriors defeated Evans 76-44.

The Augusta Eagles (homeschool) beat Alleluia 92-85. Alleluia was led by Ben Dresser, who scored 27 points and made 7 threes. Hayden Hebert scored 21 points, and Mac McBride added 19. See that game from the unique perspective of the "Angel cam" in the video below!
