Junior Michael Dukes likes to "give God the glory," à la Steph Curry, when he sinks a three, something he did five times while scoring 28 points and earning tournament MVP honors in Westminster's 89-51 Garden City Classic championship game win over Augusta Christian Saturday.
But as impressive as his perimeter shooting has been his relentless offensive rebounding and ability to finish in traffic, two things he did exceptionally well this week in four games in which he scored a total of 90 points. The range of Dukes's abilities makes Saturday's "flex" of his muscles, which he did from the floor in the second quarter after finishing a drive while being fouled, a fitting gesture as Curry's teammate, Draymond Green, is known to flex while he does it all for the NBA's darling Golden State Warriors.

The 6'2" guard took turns Saturday with 6'5" Westminster center McKay Stakely defending the high scoring Nate Dunlop, who managed 13 points, nearly 20 below his average. Dukes talked about the importance of not letting Dunlop get an offensive rhythm in our post game interview in the video above.
Mike's running mate Jelani Watson-Gayle scored what seemed like an almost effortless 26 points, including 3 threes, earning all-tournament honors. I featured Dukes and Watson-Gayle yesterday, calling them the pair of teammates who have impressed me more than any other area tandem so far this season.
Larkin Ison added 13 points and Stakely 9 as the Wildcats (5-1) put together their best offensive performance of the season.
