Red hot North Augusta's girls and boys sweep Greenbrier

Sarah Crews naile 4 first half threes in Tuesday's win.

North Augusta's girls and boys squads are the hottest pair of teams around after the Lady Yellow Jackets handed Greenbrier a 77-20 loss, and the boys topped the Wolfpack 64-61 Tuesday.

Amari Young led all scorers with 19 points and Sarah Crews added 14, including 4 first half threes, to help the Lady Yellow Jackets improve to 14-0. In the post game interview that is included in the highlights above, Crews talked about about her shooting ability and about the experience she and her teammates have logged playing together in the summers for several years.

The Lady Wolfpack fell to 4-10.

Freshman Omarion Byrd (12 points) and Junior Tez Collins (11 points) led North Augusta to a 64-61 win over the Greenbrier in the second half of Tuesday's double header. The duo combined to make 6 first quarter threes when North Augusta took an 8 point first half lead.

Greenbrier's Austin Canaday, who led all scorers with 23 points, led a second half Wolfpack comeback that cut the deficit to 1 point just before the third quarter ended. But Cameron Davis's three just before the buzzer gave North Augusta a 50-46 lead entering the fourth quarter. And Canaday's 17 second half points weren't enough to allow Greenbrier to finish the comeback.

Senior Darius Copeland reads the defense in Tuesday's second half.

Coach Tony Harrell's Yellow Jackets improved to 13-2. I talked to Harrell about the versatility of his front line players Collins, Darius Copeland, and Bryson Mozone, and about his sharp shooting freshman Byrd in the post game interview in the video above.

The Wolfpack fell to 3-11.
