Jolly's 33 point burst helps put Prep in the win column

Ryan Jolly scored 33 points in Wednesday's win.

AugBball Feature Game

Augusta Prep 62, Fox Creek 49

Leading Scorer:

Ryan Jolly, Augusta Prep - 33

Ryan Jolly scored 33 points, 22 in the second half, to lead Augusta Prep to a home win over Fox Creek, evening the Cavaliers' record at 1-1, while the Predators fell to 0-2.

After the game I talked to Jolly and Prep coach Mike Guthrie (see video below) about Ryan's ability to score in loads while at the same time executing the offensive system and finding his teammates for scoring opportunities.

Jolly is highly regarded among Georgia's recruiting press. HoopSeen.com ranked him the #16 player in the class of 2018 last summer. And GHSA expert Kyle Sandy correctly raves about him.

Those experts have it right. Jolly has no real flaws. Whenever I saw him last season I left believing no area player possesses his combination of shooting, dribbling, and passing skills. After watching him Wednesday, I believe that even more than I did last Winter. And I'll add that his agility and athleticism is also a cut above now as he is getting older and stronger.

Miles Downing added 10 points
in Augusta Prep's win.

AugBball Feature Game Background:

Wednesday's AugBball feature game matched host Augusta Prep of the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) and Fox Creek of the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL). Both teams entered Wednesday's matchup with 0-1 records after Prep's 55-54 loss to Augusta Christian Saturday and Fox Creek's 69-47 loss to Strom Thurmond Tuesday.
