Ryan Jolly scored 30 points in Tuesday's 71-58 win over Alleluia. |
Ryan Jolly scored 30 points, Miles Downing added 17, and Augusta Prep ran past Alleluia 71-58 in in Tuesday's AugBball Game of the Night. Jolly and Downing picked apart Alleluia's 2-3 zone, scoring repeatedly from point blank range throughout the final three quarters following an initial barrage of first quarter threes by Jolly that fueled a fast paced opening period that ended with Prep leading 25-18.
The Cavaliers eventually led by double digits in the first half before Alleluia, which was led by senior Elliot Balducci, who scored 19 points, cut the lead to 3 at 35-32 by halftime. The lead ballooned to its largest at 56-40 in the third quarter before another Alleluia run again cut the deficit to 3 when Ben Dresser made a long three right in front of his team's bench to cap a 13-0 Angels run.
But Alleluia would get no closer. I joked in the post game interview (above) with Jolly and Downing that judging from my two times seeing Jolly, I think he'll score 30 or more every game. He scored 33 points weeks ago in a win over Fox Creek in much the same patient way he did tonight.
