Glenn Hills stays on top of class AA hill with win over Laney and Laney and Josey's girls stay undefeated too

Glenn Hills, class AA's #1 ranked team, kept alive its unbeaten streak Tuesday with a 62-61 region win at home over rival and defending region champion Laney. The Spartans used a 9-0 fourth quarter run to erase a deficit, and John Whitehead's layup with 51.9 seconds remaining provided the go ahead basket. The Spartans were led by Tim Williamson, who scored 14 points, and Timmy Sellers and Jeff Cabarrus, who each scored 9. Laney's D'Juan Griffin led all scorers with 21 points.



Glenn Hills has sprinted to a 2-0 start in region play. Laney (5-2, 1-1) will visit Butler (2-4, 1-1) Friday while Glenn Hills hosts Jefferson County (4-1, 1-0*).

*The results from Jefferson County's game against Westside Tuesday have not been posted.
